Burja Estate Noir 2018 – Vipava Valley (Slovenia)

Pure Pinot Noir ( Modri ​​pinot ) produced by Burja Estate in the Vipava Valley, from vineyards located near Podraga .

The grapes come from selected plots (Zadomajc, Ravno Brdo, Ostri Vrh) located between the 220 to 260 m above sea level , on flysch soils with north-east exposure. The harvest was done manually at the beginning of September.

The vinification process involved approximately 20 days of maceration with spontaneous fermentation in steel and only pumping over. The refinement took place for 12 months in large oak barrels , without clarification or filtration, to preserve the authenticity of the terroir.
