Messorio Toscana IGT 2020 Technical Sheet
The grapes for the 2020 Messorio come from the Vignone and Ulivino vineyards of the Le Macchiole estate, where yields are kept low to ensure maximum aromatic concentration.
The winemaking process involves fermentation partly in cement and partly in steel, with long maceration and frequent pumping over. The wine is aged for approximately 18 months in new French oak barrels , followed by an additional 20 months in the bottle.
In the glass, it presents an intense and deep bouquet, with aromas of ripe black fruits, sweet spices, chocolate, and toasted notes . On the palate, it is broad and elegant, with powerful yet velvety tannins and a long, slightly savory finish.
Considered the benchmark Merlot of the Tuscan coast , Messorio has become the symbol of the winery and one of the most prestigious labels on the Italian wine scene.
